The Maxwell Quartet bring eight musicians training at conservatoires all over the UK to work intensively in mixed ensembles, and perform eight concerts across Mull and Iona.

Concerts are open to all and are offered on a pay-what-you-decide basis, in common with all cultural events on Mull currently.

All subsequent concerts will present music worked on while on the island by the ensemble of 12, including five quartets each including a single member of the Maxwell.

Reserved seats are available via the Eventbrite mechanism.

At Craignure, Dervaig, and Bunessan, the concerts will begin with a performance by the young musicians of Mull who study throughout the year on our Mull Music Makers scheme. The Maxwell Quartet will be visiting Mull Music Makers during Saturday 6 September, to perform to and learn from more young artists.

Just as the concerts are so greatly appreciated and enjoyed by Mull residents it is good to see how much the young artists also enjoy their time on Mull. That shines through very clearly. We are happy to contribute to the ongoing presence of an event that is so important to the cultural life of the island, while supporting the next generation of performing musicians.
